We are have an exclusive opportunity for one UNSW PhotoClub member to cover this year’s performance from The Collegium Music Choir UNSW on Sunday 1st of June. As the photographer you will be in charge of capturing the various aspects of the day such as actions shots of performers, backstage stills and any spontaneous moments. These pictures will be collated and passed onto the coordinator.
Ideal equipment you will have will be a wide angle lens, fast lens telephoto and of course a DSLR body. A fast lens is crucial for shots during performance as flash photography is not allowed. It would be good idea to make a sound blimp during performance as you do not want to spoil the acoustic from when you released your shutter. This can be made easily by wrapping bubble wraps around your camera to insulate sound.
When is it? Warm up session starts at 3.30pm and the actual performance takes place at 5pm and will end at around 8pm.
Sounds like a lot of hard work? What’s in it for you? This is a rare opportunity which would give you exposure to a live scene and exclusive right to backstage access as well as have your very own coverage portfolio for the day! In addition to this, the chosen photographer will be provided with $50 for their efforts. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your photographic horizons and get your work out there!
Interested? Simply email a picture or two of spontaneous portrait shots as well as a short description (2-3 lines) of why you want to take up this opportunity. Please also include a name and phone number we can reach you on. Shoot it off to unswphotoclub@gmail.com by Midnight, Thursday 29th of May. PhotoClub executives will post photos on the website and will contact the chosen photographer by the 30th. So please, regularly check your email and our website (http://www.unswphotoclub.org/) for most up to date info.
Any questions, feel free to email us. Thanks.
