This is actually my first posting. I was never active in this forum, so just thought I start by adding some pictures I took since I came to Sydney beginning of this year.

Gosh... it's been 3 years since I posted anything on this forum, and for those who are curious, I've gone completely digital over the last 3 years, all I can say about it is digital has come a long way...

This forum has been pretty quite as of late (43 weeks actually). So I'll post some new photos.

Gosh I have been away from this place for a while haven't I?!

Just sharing some shots. These were taken around Paddington and Darlinghurst, Sydney. For those no familiar with what I am referring to, Paddington is an up-class oasis in the middle of some pretty hasty neighbourhood! Surrounding Paddington are the junkie districts of Darlinghurst and Kings Cross (this one, you guys probably heard of, since it plays host to the annual Mardi Gra parade).

These ones were all shot with the 10D + 24-70L.

Heres a couple of pics I took of the Old One Tree Hotel near Hay, NSW while i was visiting my sister over Easter.

Critique is always welcome.

Film: Fuji Velvia 100 *droool*
Camera: Nikon F80 w/ 28-80mm lens
Scanner: CanoScan 5200F - Not bad at all I have to say, starting to work out which options to leave on/off. Lost a bit of sharpness and contrast though...but hey its a flatbed.

Some first shots using my new lense combination: Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 and 2x teleconverter on my Nikon D70 DSLR which, taking into account the crop facor of 1.5 on the camera, gives me a "35mm equivalent" focal length of roughly 600mm.

Coogee Sunrise from 2004

Ha, so I know that I'm no longer in Sydney, but I still check in on the forum every now and then to check out some of the photos. Anyways, figured I'd post a couple photos from one of the very first sunrise shoots the club did in Coogee. It was so long ago that James and I were the only ones there, he post a shot, now it's time for mine. I know, I know, I'm slow, but the going through hundreds of rolls with the film scanner takes it's time.

And yes, there was some post processing... some desaturation, levels, curves and contrast added to the sky.

Hey all,

Heres a couple of shots i made with a 35mm Olympus 2000 and some Fuji Sensia 200 pushed to 400. I got the slides developed at PhotoKing, Randwick and Scanned at Fotolab on Pitt St. Unfortunately i didnt have a tripod with me when i took these shots and i lost a bit of sharpness, particularly with the fungus log pic.

Anyways, please give me some feed back on the shots.

Stormy sunrise, Coogee

Having recently become an eastern suburbs dweller, I went down to coogee this morning for a swim and a run... and that's right, to take some photos. The clouds stretched out ALMOST to the horizon so when the sun came up it was shining on the water from above and the clouds from below creating an interesting effect.
