Cheap Sunpak flashes at Vanbar

Hi all,

Vanbar ( http://www.vanbar.com.au/catalogue/index.php ), a camera store based in Melbourne, are clearing out some Sunpak flashes (type "Sunpak" into the search box on that page). Of particular interest might be the Sunpak PZ 40 X AF flashes for $22 in Minolta, $44 in Canon and $55 in Nikon mounts (the Minolta mount is a bit weird, probably why it's cheaper) plus about $20 in shipping and handling. The latter two will also work fine off-camera (and the Minolta will after modification). I've received 2 already and have a few more on order myself!

These flashes are interesting in that they are relatively powerful (guide number 40 - that means it is powerful enough to illuminate a subject at ISO100 if the distance between the flash and the subject in meters, multiplied by your F-stop is less than 40), work with automatic pre-flash metering, have the option of proper manual power control and a bounce-zoom head.

Anyone interested in 2nd hand D40 with kit lens ?

Well this is not confirmed yet but I do have the itch to upgrade ... Before that just wondering if anyone is looking for a 2nd hand D40 + kitlens ? How much would you pay for it ? It's kinda new ... i got it July 2007 ... shutter count about 7k ..

Lense Repair

Hi guys,

My 18-70mm Lense failed on me today. The motor makes a funny sound when turning on the camera, and I can no longer auto focus. Sometimes the focussing is stuck that I cant auto focus either :(

Just wondering if you guys have any recommended places for camera repais that I should go to fix this. My lense is the standard 18 - 70 mm Sony lense that came with my a100 when I bought it beginning of last year... Or do you think it will probably cost less if I just get another one on ebay?

The University of New South Wales Buddhist Society (UNIBUDS) would be celebrating their 27th Anniversary at Sir John Clancy Auditorium, UNSW on 25th August 2007 (Week 5) from 6pm – 10pm. I'm currently wishing to start a painting which involves taking a few pictures and me copying those pictures. I have seen the photos posted here and they are BRILLIANT! I do have a camera but it can only take 4 megapixel shots. My wish is for someone, with a high resolution camera and skill, to take a couple of photos for me. I desire clarity, focus and sharpness, especially when it comes to colour. I work in layers, Old Masters approach, so I need picture quality where I can see the purity, subtleness and difference in each colour that is represented. I will pay for services, reasonably of course. Much appreciated thanks.
